That's the same thing they said when UF was selected to play OSU this year...woulda or coulda doesn't mean jack $hit...but, by your post I guess you are sayin that Oklahoma was the best team for USC to play in 04...lol...doubt it...as for the SEC's bowl record...when 9 teams from the conference get in bowl games, you are gonna lose some.

Auburn should have been the team to play SC in 04, but it would have been the same result. The SC of 04 was a machine.
Had UF not blown their load in 01, and played UM, they would have gotten shelled just the same as NU.
Besides OSU in the Fiesta this year, what could you consider a "big" win for the SEC? Notre Lame? Please.
I saw AU play in person in 04...they would have given USC hell. USC was great...but they hadn't faced a D like AU's or a ground game like AU's...and that's all you have to have to win in college football.
UGA pounded VA Tech...there's a start...IMO LSU was the best in the SEC last year...but they fell victim to a tough schedule.
AU never faced a Reggie Bush that year either. I'm no SC fan by any means, but they would have steamrolled AU that year.
Reggie was a good player...but not everyone gets to run all over the PAC 10 and ND year in and year out...O puts a$$es in the seats...D wins championships.

Did you watch the game...UGA started slow as usual...but the last 45 minutes of that game was nothin but a pounding.

Dodging my question bro. Did AU ever face a player like Bush the entire year? Nope. They barely got past Vagina Tech, who had a terrible offense, what makes you think they would have given an offense and team like SC "hell"?
